In FreeMind 0.7.1, only a few preferences could have been set in a GUI menu, in the Edit > Preferences menu. Since FreeMind 0.8.0, you can edit many of the user preferences in a graphical dialog. But even in this version and later, some preferences (properties) have to be edited in the user properties file.
