Mind maps are hierarchical - "Tree structures" - Wikis are fundamentally different in structure, allowing all sorts of linkages - "sem-lattice structures" - as used by Christoper Alexander as the underpinning of 'A Pattern Language": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pattern_language.
