Since the iPhone does not have native gestures for cut, copy and paste already, here are some suggestions on how FreeMind might work on the iPhone.

For cut, copy and paste of text (rather than nodes), first tap to bring up the loupe, find the starting location, then tap with a second finger. At this point the background colour changes to indicate the start of a selection. Then find the end of the selection and do the same thing. You can also hold the first finger down if you want. At this point it's much the same as this video on Vimeo. However, it's assumed that you want to paste only after the selection is made. At this point, we've made a selection but we might want to paste a previous copy into the selection, or cut, or copy. If you missed the selection and wanted to select again, it wouldn't work. Here is my solution.

To open a node, use a three finger gesture like opening a jar (similar to the Fingerworks Gestures) but with three fingers instead of four. To distinguish between open (or close) and cut, the thumb and fingers will switch positions left to right across the surface, whereas with a cut they will all come together.
