Logotype
From FreeMind
Revision as of 07:18, 5 May 2026 by Dan Polansky (talk | contribs)
FreeMind's current logotype is butterfly.
There was a search for a new logotype for FreeMind 0.8.0 in 2005 or thereabouts. I (Dan Polansky) picked a lightbulb design by Frank Appel (see also a link to a patch below), but after others disagreed and after we were not able to obtain a FOSS license for the lightbulb (as per private email thread entitled "Right to modify the FreeMind licence", 17 Mar 2007), we decided in 2007[1] to stick to the butterfly design.
Wiki customization error, 6 May 2026: there is some problem with rendering thumbs and therefore, pages that include images do not show them. However, the image files still exist, e.g.: Image:Light Bulb and Butterfly.png.
