FreeMind is running on a variety platforms on which Java is supported.

Supported major operating systems:

  • Mac OS X
  • Linux
  • Solaris 9 and 10
  • OS/2
  • etc.

Mobile platforms on which either FreeMind or, more typically, some companion application is running:

  • Apple iOS (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad): FreeMindLite[1]
  • Android: Mindjet for Android, previously called Thinking Space[2]: allegedly had some sort of compatibility with FreeMind, but now that it has been acquired by Mindjet, it remains to be seen whether it can be used to open and save FreeMind mind maps; Thinking Space users complain of having their application changed and reduced in fuctionality via the update process without warning[3]; according to user Izak (December 19, 2011), Mindjet for Android "does not work with FreeMind anymore"[4]
