Since the iPhone does not have native gestures for cut, copy and paste already, here are some suggestions on how FreeMind might work on the iPhone.
For cut, copy and paste of text (rather than nodes), first tap to bring up the loupe, find the starting location, then tap with a second finger. At this point the background colour changes to indicate the start of a selection. Then find the end of the selection and do the same thing. You can also hold the first finger down if you want.
