XMind is an open source mind mapping program written in Java, and based on Eclipse, using the SWT GUI toolkit. It is focused on brainstorming and mind mapping, compatible with FreeMind, and Best Eclipse RCP Application 2008 Award winner.

It is licensed under EPL (Eclipse Public License) and LGPL (GNU Lesser General Public License).

Some people view XMind as a tough competitor of FreeMind, for its being both open source and more feature-rich, having previously been a commercial product.
